Today was my first official day of training!

Mom’s been working with me every single day—especially since it’s been nearly 80° here for two weeks straight. That means lots of outdoor practice, and I’ve pretty much learned the hand signals for “sit” and “lay down.” Mom says she’s really proud of me.

I absolutely love walking with her. I haven’t quite figured out how to ignore the leaves yet, though. They’re so tempting! I also have a habit of cutting in front of her sometimes, so she’s working hard not to run me over. We’re figuring it out together.

So far, so good. I did pinch one of my back feet once, but it didn’t hurt anything. The veterinarian said at my first checkup that I’m doing really well—and I now weigh 37 pounds! Mom says I’m going to be a big girl, especially since my feet are still way too big for me.

I’ve also learned how to give Mom hugs when she’s feeling sad. She really loves that. Cuddle time is definitely our favorite.
